This is about as rare as it comes for a modern production revolver. Its a Colt Python, but not a regular one. Instead, this is a Python Target chambered in .38 special. I can hear you now; Youre so stupid, James. Pythons are .357 magnums. I know. Youre right. But youre also wrong. Colt toyed with the idea of a .38 special Python in an attempt to pull the target revolver and PPC competition shooters away from Smith & Wesson. But everybody also said thats so stupid. Pythons are .357 magnum, so Colt discontinued this revolver after two years of production and less than 3,750 of them made. And we have one! It has an eight-inch target barrel and the traditional wood grips. Plus its original box! Granted, the box is held together with athletic tape, but who cares? Its a 35-year-old cardboard box. Im nearly 35 and my left wrist is currently held together with athletic tape. As always, its for sale at the shop locally and on our GunBroker page. Or here, if you want to message or call us.
