Naturally Kjells assessment betrays his own sickly prejudices, wealth and white skin. Cat ownership is a sign of the technocratic ancien regime of colonialism and crony capitalism, is no one surprised that cat ownership is so popular among the American North East and Western Europe? Yet where one finds crushing poverty and inequality, one also finds canines standing in domestic solidarity with those oppressed. One also finds hope which manifests itself through the growing economic powers of the East and the southern Hemisphere of the Americas. Even the exceptions found in Europe (e.g. Ireland) are telling, of course the Irish love dogs! Long have they been the proverbial whipping boys of Anglo-oppression and have come to reject cat ownership. Those who know Kjell understand why he argues the way he does, but what worries us is that he is joined by Patrick RichardsFink, who has sold out everything he holds dear to stand by Kjells side and proclaim the same dogma. What next?
