This is an AMAZING bunch of people who were honored for their traditional ARTS!! Including Carolyn Mazloomi , a Bahai from Ohio who, besides being an aeronautical engineer, is a Quilter of African American traditional themes, who started the Women of Color Quilt Network. See her in the American Bahai magazine, p. 60. A large gospel Band from the Delaware area started things off with a traditional African song-men facing the women. A Mohawk- Henry Arquette, was a high iron worker on skyscrapers in younger days and Split Black & Red Willow Basket Maker. Manuel Cowboy Donnelly-Irish/Mexican, is a Taino guitar musician. Rufus White, Omaha, honored as a Singer/ Story Teller, then sang and drummed while Kevin Locke, Lakota and a former Honoree, danced his Hoop Dance. An Odawa Lady from Petaski, Michigan was honored for her Quill baskets. An Irish dancer was honored for his traditional foot work, and his sister and daughter came out to dance with him. A lady who has carried on and taught the traditional Ukranian clothing with all the embroidery was honored. and the Holmes Brothers, 2 guitars, piano and drums finished the 2 hours plus show!! Then everyone came back on stage and were introduced again, hugged and shook hands all around!! O my God! O my god! Unite the hearts of Thy people.... Bahaullah. Mitakuye Oyasin!! Worth the time!!!
