This is an early 1950s picture of Kahn Memorial Hospital, the predecessor to Marshall Regional Hospital and Good Shepherd Hospital, Marshall. At the time, this was owned and operated by the Harrison County Hospital Association The building featured below still exists, although it is clothed on the outside with a different facade and on the inside with substantial changes. This building as pictured is the center part of the current three-part building that comprises the current hospital; the part of the building to its south (the portion closest to University Avenue) is also a fairly old building. Apparently, the people making changes and updates to the hospital determined that it was more economical to incorporate these older buildings into the newer facility -- despite the fact that modern medicine requires the latest in electronics.
