This is an elevator call panel from Michigan Central Station - arguably the most famous urban ruin in Detroit. Time and taggers have taken their toll on this beautiful building. Here, the setting sun was reflecting onto this surface, hghlighting the amazing colors that you see here. There was very little retouching - these colors are truly this vibrant in real life. What I really appreciated about this scene was the layers present. To the left and right of the panel are the rusted, heavy metal elevator doors now missing their glass and looking straight to the back of the elevator shaft. lightandcomposition/photo-of-the-day-november-09-panel-by-chris-horner/
