This is an exciting project that all city residents should pay attention to and help shape - to make sure it meets and responds to the needs of the South Providence community especially. Uniting Providence geographically and spatially - neighborhoods that are currently cut off from each other literally by I-95 and figuratively by a million other issues - is a huge thing and could lead to improved understanding and mutual cooperation among neighborhoods that may currently view each other with suspicion (as evidenced by some of the incredibly bone-headed, close-minded, and prejudiced negative comments featured at the end of this article in The Providence Journal.)
