This is an interesting article about growing old from the Pew Research Group: pewsocialtrends.org/2009/06/29/growing-old-in-america-expectations-vs-reality/ I thought that this statement was especially telling: These generation gaps in perception also extend to the most basic question of all about old age: When does it begin? Survey respondents ages 18 to 29 believe that the average person becomes old at age 60. Middle-aged respondents put the threshold closer to 70, and respondents ages 65 and above say that the average person does not become old until turning 74. As someone who is quickly approaching being on the downhill side of 55 (yes, thats a shameless plug to remind everyone my birthday is this month) I can totally relate to this thought. Most days, I dont feel old and cant imagine being old at 60. So, how do you feel?
