This is another example of Grant Robertson and Jacinda Ardern being incredibly naive. As neither have ever had a job or life experiences, they dont know about the inherent backstabbing and office politics which goes on with large numbers of people. Theirs is a World of being fast tracked by patrons, of beautiful people luvvies, of effortless advancement, of being told how wonderful they are - which they genuinely believe to be true. Theirs is not a World of hard slog, of street fighting, of counting numbers, of power bills and groceries and children and mortgages, of crawling inch by inch up the ladder. There are plenty of people (who have been around the block a few times) just ITCHING for an excuse to quit Labour and form their own party, and he is giving them the perfect excuse of saying clearly there is no longer a place for [me] in the Labour party - oh well... - and doing so less ineptly than Peter Dunne and Clive Mathewson 20 years ago.
