This is awesome! I hope it becomes a common practice, not just in the medical field but also crosses multidisciplinary lines to include addictions treatment, mental health, social work, etc. So many of the decisions that affect people are shrouded in secrecy that erects a barrier between practitioner and patient/client. Research has shown time & time again (this is only one example...and I also learned about this at Cambridge during the health psychology classes I attended) that better communication, with more accurate information, creates better communication, which leads to better understanding of the problem (by both parties) which then leads to a more appropriate treatment approach, which culminates in vastly improved compliance & ultimately more successful outcomes. Basically: people just want to be treated with dignity & respect and have an understanding and say in what is happening to them and why.
