This is beautiful, she talks about how parents spank their children because they dont have any other tools, and by spanking children how do we support them in their future how do they learn to negotiate, or communicate outside the home if they cant learn this within the home. Spanking is not the only form of power, other forms are rewards and praise, yes praise. I facilitate a parenting programme that will give you the tools to help you parent without using power, tools that build up the childs self esteem, tools that will support a loving relationship regardless if you have a baby or a teenager its never to late to learn these skills. Im sure most parents want to have loving relationships with their children now and to continue when they are old enough to leave you.
