This is big - there is now solid evidence that police actively colluded with the firm that ran a political blacklist of over 3,000 construction workers. Documents leaked to Labour MP John McDonnell show that in 2008 Detective Chief Inspector Gordon Mills briefed the Consulting Association, despite the fact that the firms work was illegal. Mills worked for the National Extremism Tactical Co-ordination Unit, one of a triumverate of political policing units. The others were the National Domestic Extremism Unit (which ran a database of information on activists) and the National Public Order Intelligence Unit (which deployed undercover officers including Mark Kennedy). theguardian/uk-news/2014/nov/08/police-colluded-blacklist-construction-workers-consulting-association-union-activists
