This is by far one of my favorite conscious breathing exercises. The beautiful thing about breath is that it is always with you. Breath is a tool and resource that you can use to change your thoughts and feelings. As Dr. Weil explains, his 4-7-8 breathing technique is also an excellent stress reducer. Stuck in traffic? Give it a try! On the phone with a telemarketer? Give it a try! Working on a computer whose OS is Windows 8.1? Give it a try! (These may or may not be some of my stress triggers.) xo
