This is exactly how they control whos in baseball & whos out!!!!!!! THE BAT! You cant hit a 90 mph ball unless you have the opportunity to train to see it. Hell, you cant hit a golf ball that is standing still unless you train to see it. It is harder to hit a moving target baseball at 90MPH. Ask Tiger? You need excessive high quality tee training to condition strengthen the torso with the ability to load and stabilize the head while developing dynamic strength in the full range motion with accuracy. This requires 250 quality T-cuts a day at least 4 days a week. Soft toss, and live BP 2 to 3 days a week / Cage time / all from a live arm. Added requirement; Live Pitching 2 to 3 times a week / minimally 4 to 6 ABs (At Bats) We need to get our pitchers and hitters together for live training. It takes 100 to 180 live game ABs per year to develop the necessary ball sight & count acumen combined with the physical ability to become a great hitter. Even with these opportunities there is no guarantee. This is the only way to become a hitter relaxed in the box. All of the above without live pitch & hit sets up mental anxiety in the batters box in the game for the batter. We also need to put our kids on teams that will give them minimally 2 to 4 ABs per game. Expectation (if the player earns it); 2 ABs/game, 2 games per week in a HS season - Travel Summer Leagues 3 ABs 3 to 4 games a week; from here a solid hitter can grow! Stay away from teams where your kid is frozen out of the batters box where he or she is clearly a better athlete than other given opportunity. There are too many cases where the talented black athlete has sat the bench watching white athletes of less ability strike out countless numbers of times. Leave that team yesterday go play where there is opportunity. Therefore, if you do not allow blacks ABs at the Pony, Travel, HS & Collegiate levels how can they possibly become Pros in any significant numbers? How does our kid get these opportunities to develop in white biased environments (this is not the case with every integrated baseball team there are many coaches that demand fairness will prevail)? He doesnt! When the highest level pro baseball scouts are evaluating the best collegiate potential pro athlete arm in the country (re; Jameis Winston); Pay close attention to the statement about Jameis Winstons ABs (at bats - who happens to be black). Bear in mind also that; Jameis could also not have enough batting experience by position as a pitcher (pitchers tend to have DHs in baseball). However, through out baseball there is a tendency particularly at the upper levels of the game to short blacks of ABs. If the statistics are ever studied they will likely show that blacks have the lowest number of ABs for innings played. This occurs via pigeon holing a black player into running bases, made to be a pitcher that never pitches a game, playing the field (usually right or another position) and strategically not getting the ABs for that position played but a DH designated hitter (likely a GWH great white hope is given a chance) at the expenses of the black players opportunity to gain valuable AB (at bat) hitting experience. Did this occur to Jameis? Is that the reason his bat needs work? Not sure? Could be? Jameis bat as a senior collegiate baseball athlete should be as polished as his arm over the last 4 years. You see the arm got use? The BAT DID NOT!!!! THIS IS ANOTHER GLARING PROBLEM IN BASEBALL! BROTHERS NEED ABs TOO!!!!!!! BROTHERS NEED TO STRIKE OUT TOO OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL THEY DEVELOP INTO A HITTER! THIS IS THE ONLY ROAD TO BECOME A HITTER, THERE IS NO OTHER!!! YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO STRIKE OUT!!! TOO! - IT IS ALSO ESSENTIAL TO ADD THE WORK ETHIC FOR HITTING IT IS A MUST DO! We need to take responsibility for this & place training emphasis on the bat! If we can run, jump & throw it only serves to good logical reason given the opportunity we can hit too!
