This is from a friend of mine. Interesting letter to Mr. Card. May he read it and understand to STFU. Dear Orson Scott Card, I have read 28 of your books. Number 29 (Earth Afire) is in progress now. I cannot wait for the movie adaptation of Ender’s Game, and will go to the theaters opening week. So I say this as a fan. I know it is not in your nature to remain silent, but no one finds your anti-gay arguments convincing. Your response to the Ender’s Game boycott only increased the attention it received, and increased the number who will boycott. You are a brilliant artist, but there is a part of your brain that’s broken. Pretty please, with sugar on top, for me and your other fans, try hard to keep the broken part of your brain silent on gay issues. I, and many others, want to see the Ender’s Game sequels adapted for the big screen. Do it for us. Disrespectfully, Mark Reed Many have asked why I would support a man I disagree with so adamantly. If I only stick to reading authors whose ideology aligns with mine, I’d be stuck reading Richard Dawkins over and over. The moment Card’s bigotry finds its way into his work is the moment he loses me as a fan. In my opinion Card is a bigot. Ender Wiggin is not.
