This is good. It makes me also think about Jabez in the Bible whose very name meant pain. Can you imagine having a label like that all of your life. He was born into painful circumstances. And yet he prayed a bold prayer, 1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked. Now THATS a prayer! AND GOD ANSWERED! There is alot happening in our nation causing racial strife and tension. There were hundreds of years of injustice and inhumane treatment of those of African descent through the abominable practices of the slave trade. The answer is not in more laws or political movements that ignore a God-oriented vision and mindset. Laws will not change mens hearts. Only a third Great Awakening in America has the power to restore all that the enemy of our souls has stolen. The Amazing Grace and favor of God that brings repentance, salvation and life, the likes of which was experienced by former slave trader John Newton, that led him to pen those famous words ..... Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now Im found, was blind but now I see. May we truly see God as He is and see each other as marvelously created and recreated in His image.
