This is how a Über-Jay body looks like in a 24 fret configuration. First ever. (Please, be nice and pretend not see those burning marks on the top) I pushed the envelope a bit with a reverse role treatment, with a thicker Ebony laminate (4mm) and a thinner Lychee top (3mm). It will make a difference when we add some contour. Yesterday I decided not to chamber the body. I have learned that, to many a light bass weighs around 8lbs and anything below 7.5lbs is seen as a bit too light. This mahogany body is already fairly light and the final weight should be around 7.8lbs. So it seemed appropriate not to chamber a bass that should appeal to many. I guess some of you will agree and some will not. Do let me know please. Should the winner want a lighter bass I suppose this can be discussed. You guys (and gal) have a great week end!
