This is kind of funny. I got a letter from the state of California yesterday...forwarded from my Albuquerque address...for two traffic citations. Apparently last month when Ivette and I were returning from our three day stay in Bakersfield we inadvertently cheated two short sections of toll road in the Orange County L.A. freeway system. DRAT!!!!! FOILED AGAIN!!!!! Now Ive got to go out and get them a $6 money order for the tolls and mail if off because if I miss the November deadline then the bill goes up to $300 in fines! Good ole California lol! They get you (literally) coming and going! Its not enough in California to pay like....HIGH TAXES for things like freeways. After these poor people pay through the nose to build them...then theyre (were...I guess) expected to pay again every time we want to uh....USE THEM!!!! I realize now I think I used a little toll stretch getting out of L.A. again the other day too. Hope the little letter makes it to New Mexico and back here in time for the deadline this time. I could solve THAT problem by simply registering my car in Califas now that Im here to stay. My New Mexico tag is good till next August though. I just paid $55 dollars for it for another year before I came out here. California wants $170 to register it. Again...to pay for things like roads (twice) I assume? I was going to put it off as long as I could....but now that Im on record busted and my NM plate recorded by some evil greedy freeway troll it will be difficult trying to convince a cop if I get pulled over with my NM plate now that I havent re registered my car yet because I just arrived!
