This is making the Facebook rounds, and its a bandwagon on which Im happy to leap. I believe its one of the finest numbers Bob Fosse ever choreographed, and the finest existing footage of Gwen Verdon at the height of her powers. REDHEAD was a B- musical, but it won five Tony Awards (in the 1959 ceremony which took place at the Waldorf-Astoria ballroom), including statues for Verdon and Fosse. The music was by Albert Hague (PLAIN AND FANCY, and he acted in FAME) and the devilish lyric was by the masterful Dorothy Fields. She wrote for Gwen again a few years later in a little sketch called SWEET CHARITY.
