This is me recording myself writing a song out of thin air some - TopicsExpress

This is me recording myself writing a song out of thin air some time back in 1985-1986. I just had a mono tape recorder, pressed play and record, and grabbed an acoustic guitar with pencil and paper in front of me and started playing and writing what came to mind. If you listen to my finished version of this song (My Heartaches and Pain) you’ll hear it changed considerably from this first version. I turned the tape recorder off once during this recording session to write some lyrics down and started again. I only did this recording out of pure curiosity since I didn’t know how badly I truly sounded without being prepared and finished with an idea. The birth of a song isn’t exactly a beautiful thing, at least when it comes to me doing it. This is an interesting time capsule of a progression of an original song from the very start of its process. The finished product actually made it onto an album by The Santairs called “Sleeping in Dreams.” This is recording #226. MAKING OF “MY HEARTACHES AND PAIN” YOU GOT ME RUNNIN’ ALL THE TIME. YOU GOT ME RUNNIN’ AND I CANNOT FIND IT. YOU GOT ME RUNNIN’ BUT YOU CAN’T SIT STILL. ARE YOU GONNA MAKE THE WILL? YOU GOT ME RUNNIN’ BUT I CANNOT HIDE. YOU GOT ME RUNNIN’ AND I CAN’T LET IT HIDE. YOU GOT ME RUNNIN’ BUT YOU CAN’T SIT STILL….AND I CAN’T SIT STILL. CAN’T SIT STILL, OH! YOU’VE GOT ME RUNNIN’ BUT I CANNOT HIDE. YOU GOT ME RUNNIN’ RIGHT BY YOUR SIDE. OH, ALL I WANTED WAS A GIRL LIKE YOU. BUT INSTEAD, I LOST YOU. YOU GOT ME RUNNIN’ BUT I CAN’T SIT STILL. YOU GOT ME RUNNIN’ AND I DON’T HAVE THE WILL. ALL I WANTED WAS TO HAVE YOU NEAR ME. OH BABY, STOP, YOU’RE TORTURIN’ ME. OH YOU CAPTURED AND YOU’RE CALLIN’ ME. BOY YOU CAPTURED AND YOU’RE CALLIN’ ME. Written and performed by Wayde K. Brown & The Santairs Copyright 2013—All Rights Reserved Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.
