This is mental attitude of majority of Papua New Guineans about their choice of Prime Minister material. First choice- They want a prime minister that pays their bride price-school fee and cash end outs. Second choice- a mixed race or Australian influenced-so they can keep accepting Aid for another 100 years. Third choice- A so-called Christian- Jew Lover so they can claim Gods blessing. All these leads to systemic corruption- weak governance system fueling rise of cost of living, lower currency value and huge budget deficit. Sadly; they think electoral process is the only means to correct all these wrongs. Research has found PNG Government spent $US207 million on the 2012 elections, and the Australian Government spent another $US35 million. This takes the total cost per voter to $US63, the highest in the world. The typical cost of an election is apparently US$5 per voter Stephen Howes- Devpolicy-ANU The Value of your vote is roughly PGK10- the reflections of lawlessness in our streets and country is the reflections of weak and corrupted state.
