This is my 3rd year with dancing lights. Having a blast but still - TopicsExpress

This is my 3rd year with dancing lights. Having a blast but still learning a lot. Having a channel config problem. I have a 16 channel lor control box and a renard 24 that I built last year. I can make things work as sequenced as long as I use x lights with two lor dongles and configure the lor to (on my system) as com6 and the renard as com 8 (open dmx). I have the renard flashed to dmx firmware. My sequence is built with 8 small trees two colors (green as channels 1-8 and red as channels 9-16. My big mega tree is six segments, 4 colors all leds, configured as dmx universie 1, red on channels 1,5,9,13,17,21, blue 2,6,10,14,18,22 and so on for green and white. . With this set up using two dongles (the renard controller has a crossover cable) all works well - responds to the sequence as programmed. I am looking to start adding rgb next year ( for a later discussion), so I am trying to get the two control boxes daisy chained but having problems. I am going from the computer (via dongle on com 6) to the lor control box with a straight cable, then daisy chained to the renard box with a crossover cable. I have redone the sequence in lor to put everything on dmx universe with the little trees as universe 1, ch 1-16 and the mega tree as ch 17 - 40. I have the network preferences as dmx and it recognizes my dongle as dmx, control panel is on and the comm listener has it. Problem is that the mega tree responds to the same programming as channels 1-16. The little trees act right but the mega tree does not even pick up channels 17-24. I tried going into x lights with the same configuration and before even running a sequence I configured it in a test folder to open dmx, ch 1-40. In the test mode, channels 1-24 operate the mega tree as well as channels 1-16 operating the little trees with nothing lighting up on 25 thru 40. I have tried several combinations including moving the little tree addresses to ch 25-40 but still nothing. I cannot get the two boxes to pick up the proper channels in either lor or x lights. I would really like to get them daisy chained and operating properly before I venture into rbg lights with using other equipment next year. Any thoughts or suggestions to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated
