This is my client Kieran Here he is seen doing a 240kg deadlift up 45kg, he squatted 190kg up 30kg and a 120 bench up 15kg, at the end of his 12 week program, body weight went from 88kg to 95kg. . Outstanding results from a person who works 6 days a week, high stressed job but loves training so we designed a 3 day strength training program with one modified strongman session a week. This is his 12 week program he followed, basic but effective, why because basics work. Week 1 – 4 Monday F/SQ-Tuesday strict press-Thursday S/G deadlift - Saturday strongman Sets and reps wk 1 4x6 wk 2 5x5 wk 3 5x4 wk 4 4x3 Week 5 – 8 Monday HBB squat – Tuesday – inc bb press – Thursday deficit conventional deadlift - Saturday modified strongman Sets and reps wk 1 5x5 wk 2 5x4 wk 3 4x3 wk 4 3x2 Weeks 9 – 12 Monday LB Squat Tuesday flat bb bench Thursday conventional deadlift - Saturday modified strongman session Sets and reps wk 1 5x4 wk 2 4x3 wk 3 3x2 wk 4 3x1 Test lifts wk 13 Basic linear periodization, variation in lifts but similar movement patterns as he had a training age, mechanical intensity increase as phase go by, accessories to address weakness as we went, 3-4 sets 3-12 reps depending. With the following phases next primal lift used an as accessory in some form or in the strongman session.
