This is my friend Amy. 2 years ago today, when I was crossing the USA (TAC 2012), Amy died. I didnt find out until some days later. The news destroyed me and broke my heart to realise she was gone. God only knew what effect this had on her family. What was clear from the final 12 months of her life was that she was struggling with depression. What I didnt know, is that she had battled against this for years and although we talked, I never knew until that last year when things fell apart. I wish I had called more or even made the effort to go and see her and tell her that she was not alone and give support and listen. Instead I assumed she would be ok because I didnt know any better... If you have a friend you care about and whom you havent seen for a while.
