This is my last public announcement before going back to stealth - TopicsExpress

This is my last public announcement before going back to stealth and ministry mode. So, how did the election go? I pray that the incumbents who were reelected will ponder the election and the results with great soberness and humility. Those who have served well, I pray they continue to do so! Those who have not been good stewards over time, money or people (Mat. 9) I pray they will use the grace an mercy extended them well and change their ways. I pray the persons entering new offices of service will serve the people but take their orders from God. I know people want public servants to re-present them in places they cannot be, but this is certainly not my prayer. My prayer is that you will re-present Gods heart and plan in the offices in which you serve. I pray those who were not successful in their efforts to win a certain will seek God as to why. I dont mean, Did I miss the elderly, Asian, female vote because I neglected to specifically address those who are left handed. I mean, what was Gods purpose in your running? What did He want to accomplish through you? Are you one who was sent or one who just went into the elections? Then, of course, ask God what you would do next. As for us common folk, if our candidate won, we are not done! We cannot simply clap and dance and perhaps help pick up a few signs! We must pull up along side them and help them to bring to pass the vision that so excited us in the first place. If we do not, when we do not see promises kept or changes made, we may be at greater fault than they are. If the person we wanted in office did not win, we are charged with the responsibility to honestly and humbly share HELPFUL ideas on what can be done differently next time and then help them to do them. We are also called to support, challenge, pray for and work with those who are in office. While opposing aspects of their agenda that contradict our moral consciousness and faith beliefs, we can support their efforts to bring safety, jobs, etc. to our communities. Let me close by saying, if you simply stopped by for a word of encouragement, check out the churchs page -- Christs Community Church of Steubenville.
