This is my longest post ever but I am in a bit of a weird dilemma and could use some help. Thanks I just got a letter in the mail that says my license is suspended because A medical condition indicates I am incapable of safely operating a motor vehicle at this time. Here is what happened- A lot of people dont know this but for about 2 years I have been very fatigued and had some problems where I get random pains throughout my body. I havent really told many people because I dont want to be looked at any differently than anyone else. This has made everything I do just take more effort than it used to but Im happy to just power through my days and carry on like nothing is wrong. I feel like I have nothing to complain about because I love what I do and I am a lot more well off than people with serious health problems. I tried acupuncture, yoga, strict healthy diets, chiropractor visits and nothing seemed to help. I had 50 different blood tests and I tested negative for everything. My MRI and Nerve test came out fine too, I didnt have any pinched nerves so doctors were all stumped. Finally they tried a sleep study where I stayed the night at a sleep clinic and they hooked me up to a machine to monitor my sleep patterns. The doctor said the results of my test show that I have narcolepsy because I entered REM within 5 minutes of closing my eyes and most people it takes an hour. She said she was required by law to tell the DMV. I looked up videos of people with Narcolepsy and they fall asleep with no warning and have to wear helmets and stuff because they will be walking and just collapse on the sidewalk. This has never happened to me. I can get up at 5:30am and surf for 4 hours then go play all day and go to bed 22 hours later and I can resist falling asleep the whole time. Ya I may be exhausted the whole day but I maintain control. I feel like the doctors just ran out of ideas and just said I had Narcolepsy because they were stumped. But this doesnt explain my pains and by law they had to report their findings to the DMV which completely screws me over. This is not cool, I have 9 gigs this week and If I get pulled over It wont be good. If anyone feels like coming to one of my shows this week with me and driving my car it would be a huge help and I would owe you big time! I hope I can resolve this very soon. It says I have the right to request a hearing so I have to go in-front of these people and some how prove to them that I wont fall asleep when I drive. I started driving on the streets when I was 13 with my moped and then got my truck when I was 16 so thats 16 years of driving experience and I have never been in an accident or fallen asleep. To prove that I dont have narcolepsy I am going to have the judge play me Kenny G and Jack Johnson in a dimly lit room for 2 days and I WONT FALL ASLEEP!
