This is my public service announcement for the day - Take 10 minutes and pull your own CREDIT REPORT. In this day and age of identity theft no one can be too careful. Many people do not realize they are a victim until they try and apply for credit and are denied or creditors begin contacting them on delinquent accounts. You are entitled to a free copy of your own report once a year from each of the three major bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion). The site will ask you for name, address, date of birth and social security number. This is safe to provide on this site as long as your internet connection is secure. From there the site will ask you to answer some multiple choice questions to verify your identity before providing your report. This is the only site authorized by federal law, is truly FREE (you will not be asked to enter a credit card), and recommended by most banks to their customers. Note: You will not receive your score, but all account history, open, closed, inquiries, negative history, prior addresses, etc. is provided. There is an option to purchase your score for a small fee, but I usually dont. If you have any questions please let me know, Id be happy to help!
