This is my son McKays testimony given July 6th 2014. On Monday almost one week ago he gave up his burdens to the Lord. He had struggled with addictions and had been clean for 8 months. He did not fall the the temptations but instead turned himself over to the his creator. He had just graduated from High school a year early with honors. Spoke at his graduation and was saving money for a mission. He also had written this down in his journal. McKays last testimony I realize I need to think more about my Heavenly Father and his son and the atonement. God is in, around and through every thing. He is a part of us whether we like it or not. He is light. He extends himself to all. Each choice has meaning and brings us closer or farther away from God. Happiness is a creation of God who made it for us. I will acquire happiness by pursuing the path of virtue, uprightness, faithfulness holiness and keeping all the commandments of God. Beware of the counterfeits, they may appear to be happiness but are not Gods happiness is eternal. I will go where God wants me to go, be who God wants me to be, say what he wants me to say. Prayer is a commandment of God. Its important so that we can seek for guidance, steer clear from temptations, thank God for blessings, and repent of our sins. Through humble prayer we guarantee our prayers will be answered We must love all of our brothers and refrain from judgements. Love the Lord with all my heart and love my neighbor as the Lord. Stop judging, replace it with love. We are all so very different so we are incapable of judging. We are all sinners. we are all in need of Gods mercy desperately. So lets have the same mercy for our brethren. Shouldnt we forgive others as we want to be forgiven and love as we want to be loved? Through Gods love I can love my fellowman. The commandments are here to make us happy and give us blessings make us free. Not tire us or make life harder. It is for our benefit. The world is very deceiving. Beware of that. My drug addictions chain me down and take away my freedom. The gospel is for every body. We all need Christ in our lives. He will heal us from our pain and sorrow. god wants the best for us. If we let him. I must be the brother my brother needs, and be kind caring and loving. Fast Sunday July 6th 2014
