This is my tale about hiking the Rose River Falls trail....(July 9th, 2014) The day began with promise for the retiree gang of four. The sun was shining, spirits were high, they decided to explore. Up the mountain to the trail head, the gang made their start. Together they walked the rocky path, not venturing far apart. A fast moving creek was on their left, a steep mountain on their right. At the time I was in the lead, when we encountered an amazing sight. A black bear of some size, scavenging for food, only twenty feet ahead All of us stopped, dead in our tracks, several exclamations were said. The retiree gang got away but kept looking over their shoulders. Expecting to see their new friend bear behind every tree and boulder. The End
