This is not a good idea...Good idea is would be to create a series based on The New Teen Titans comics rather than that very very ugly word, loosely. See The Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy could be called a loosely based version except that it used several different Batman comics to tell the whole story. This sound like someone wanted to use this title to try to do what Nolan did but cant afford to put in the time nor effort (or money) to make a version that the fans would recognize. Like..having star fire be a young girl that was given her powers in a lab rather than being an alien from another world. Or better yet doing the whole Donna Troy is an urban vigilante instead of an Amazon Warrior from a hidden island etc etc. finally with Akiva Goldsmith attached with the whole loosely based tag means hes going to drive this right into the ground. Warner Brothers..this is a bad move. Very bad move...oh well at least you have Nightwing..former partner to Batman who was once known a Robi..uh..oh..no Batman at all in this series?
