This is not really necessary. The current O&G Technical Advisory Board consists of a member from PIOGA, an organization which has been very skilled at pushing back regulations on behalf of the conventional drillers. The current TAB members all came out of the conventional oil and gas industry and the advisement of the TAB grew with the unconventional development. This is really getting ridiculous adding an additional layer of advisement - are they going to restructure the current TAB then? They got their bifurcation of the regulations and the delay -- they are doing everything they can possibly do to weaken the regulatory process. PA had a great opportunity to be a world class leader with oil and gas, both conventional and unconventional resources. The unyielding influence of industry may leave its mark if left unchecked. The conventional and unconventional gas fields across Pennsylvania are not remote locations, this is a region where families have homes, their children attend school, play ball, we have jobs (not a few in the industry) and hospitals, highway and rail along with well pads, pipelines and all that come with that. Our Region needs to be respected with reasonable, adequate and sufficient regulations for the oil & gas industry regardless of conventional or unconventional. Now is not the time to weaken the regulatory framework or to create additional advisory layers when the present system has been quite sufficient. crisciassociates/2014/10/08/senate-passes-bill-promoting-conventional-oil-production-in-pa/
