This is not the start of a religious argument, cuz of the flux of messages I am getting I am going to give a group answer to what it is I believe. I am not an atheist. I will not ever argue the existence of God; there is no evidence to support either side. I dont need to know why I am here, I am deeply grateful that I am. I CHOOSE not to WORSHIP any god nor do I need scripture to tell me gods will and how to be moral. I need only to listen to my consciousness. I view the Bible as a historically valuable book but I do not agree it is Gods word, if it is then he is a cruel God and again, I choose not to worship such a god. But he is no better than any of the other Gods, they seem to me to all be cruel. I choose to respect the laws of nature that brought me into existence, and refuse to fear a supreme being. I have respect for Jesus as a prophet and believe his message was one of peace and inspiration but doubt he was the son of god. I dont believe he died for our sins but do have reverence for the fact that he died for his beliefs. I stand firm that organized religions are tools of oppression and control created by men and used by men who are arrogant enough to demand we obey what they claim is Gods word and insist that theirs is the one true religion, no human can possibly know this. I am horrified that our government even considers forcing us to live by a single book and yes the only book that makes the claim of being written by our creator. Even the lowest courts in the land do not condemn with out collaborating proof, especially when someones very life and soul are at stake. I dont completely agree with Darwin either but feel his theory of evolution should be taught in science class as a theory and also believe that creationism should be taught in public schools, but not in a science class. I will always have contempt for those religious fanatics who insist on politically trying to enforce their beliefs on others but do not tell them how to live their lives or who to worship and only ask the same. And finally, I believe religion is the sole foundation for the oppression of women around the world and until this weapon of mass destruction, religion, is eliminated no society or nation will reach its full potential and thrive to the benefit of all peoples until we have complete empowerment of women. There.
