This is old news, but most of my posts ought to be, as I am very cheap and completely willing to wait to play most things until they are on sale. I picked up Shadowrun Returns on the Steam summer sale and finally got a chance to play it this evening, and it makes me so happy. It straight up references the SNES game right at the beginning and I was sold from that point on. I am concerned that there may be less strategy than I would want out of a game like this, as I seem to be wrecking things with ease as an elf decker with a pistol, but even if I manage to blaze through the game with a pistol Alpha Protocol style, I will still be pleased. For the roughly 4 bucks I paid for it, Shadowrun Returns was a great callback to one of the iconic SNES experiences of my youth and has been a joy to play.
