This is one of many realities of heroin. If we had this many young people dying and being maimed in a foreign war, in motor vehicle accidents, or by a disease like Ebola, we would all -- everyone of us be engaged in prevention, treatment and recovery. If not now, people, when? If not you, who? Addiction is a disease like diabetes and hypertension that require lifelong treatment. And, we dont shun people with this disease and we dont put them in jail.
