This is one of my babies, Chelo. He is a Doberman cross who is approx 3 years old, about 45lbs. I got him from an animal rescue in whitecourt, but he came originally from Mexico. I know he came from an abusive situation and has had his ears and tail cut off (most likely an inhumane attempt at docking). He is a very sweet dog but definitely has some fear/anxiety issues of strangers especially men. My main struggle with him is that he is very dog aggressive with new dogs. Will attack almost every new dog within moments of meeting. After the initial altercation things are generally fine but most people do not appreciate his behaviour and I get that! What can I do to stop this behaviour? Ive tried everything to establish myself as pack leader including pinning him down etc. He really likes other dogs so I want to get past this issue. Does anyone have any suggestions or know anyone who can help me deal with this problem? Thanks in advance!
