This is perhaps one of the most difficult posts I will ever make on Facebook. Not only because my heart is broken, but because Im about to break all of your hearts as well. About 2 hours ago, Alfred, our sweet angel bunny, crossed over to Rainbow Bridge. Last night, he seemed sleepier than normal and I held him all night (even more than I usually did). This morning he ate a little bit and drank some water, but seemed more content to be snuggling up to me so I held him all day. I carried on as normal on Facebook as to not worry you all in case my fears werent warranted, but I just knew he was tired. Shortly before 5:00, I gave our boy a strawberry (his favorite) and he snuggled up to it and me and stopped breathing shortly after. When he passed on, he opened his eyes fully... hes never done that before and it seemed he could finally see me for the first time as he hopped away into his new life. Alfred not only was my baby, but he belong to each of you... You who loved him, sent him many many gifts and cards and well wishes. You were his family just as sure as I was. Our boy rose from the rubbish and became an inspiration for so many, uniting not only the rabbit community, but the entire animal community around the world. He truly was and will always be the face of peace who overcame the harshest of lives to finally find love. My heart breaks with each of yours tonight. My heart has joined the thousand, for my friend stopped running today. Ill love you forever, my beautiful boy.
