This is probably going to step on some toes, but here it is: Forgetting age, gender, etc, we all need to show respect to other people. I was taught to respect my elders as I was growing up- and try to follow through each day. Ill admit, I am not perfect. I have my faults. However, I am greatly disappointed at the lack of respect weve encountered in the last few days. Just today, we were at the post office- stopped and held a door open for a woman. She parked in the drive up mail drop, (not a parking spot, but some people do it anyways) Got out of her car and mingled for a minute. We could see she was walking at a slower pace, and we had the time, SO... Tim paused at the door, holding it open for her kindly. As Tim approached our box at the end of the hallway, (apparently, right next to the womans box) she let out a huge sigh and said You know, back in the day, young folks would wait their turn and show respect to the elderly!. That all came completely as a shock since in no way did he cut in front of her or shoved her aside. Mind you, he arrived FIRST, held the door open for HER, she mingled at the entrance (searching for something it seemed) and Tim had our mail halfway out of our box before she arrived at the end of the hallway. So please, no matter what age, show others some respect!!!
