This is really simple: It should be more than okay for someone in comics to talk about being abused, harassed, or otherwise mistreated. Whether the issue is current, dated, resolved, or still on the table. It should be met with open discussion, and action taken if the situation warrants it. It should NOT be met with: scorn, disdain, anger, or any kind of commentary about how that persons experience is not relevant. This is why women dont speak out when it happens. We take it on the chin and keep moving. This is why artists keep working for companies that dont pay them *raises hand*. Weve all been on that particular merry go round at least once. The system in place is chock full of flaws. Advice: Any time someone talks openly about a difficult subject and is instantly met with cries of anger and denial...look at the person doing the protesting against them. Chances are that youll be looking at someone who is in danger of falling over board if the boat is rocked too hard.
