This is satellite imagery showing how water vapor has been moving around in the northern hemisphere for the past 6 hours. The white and blue shading is where the moisture is deeper and more plentiful while the brown shading is where the air column is drier. You can see the North American Gyre swirling counter-clockwise around near Hudsons bay. This is the main large-scale weather feature bringing seasonably cool weather to us from Canada. You can also see a small gyre, hurricane Simon swirling off Baja in the eastern Pacific.
