This is shameful, and an example of why Janet Barresi is unfit to lead anyone. In this video, Janet Barresi advises teachers to read the Bible and tell critics of the new standards to Go to Hell. This is highly unprofessional. It does not build teams or create good working relationships. The Superintendent is not to be a dictator. Yet, most importantly, this is a terrible abuse of the Bible. While Hell is a true and terrifying reality according to scripture (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8), God does not want anyone to be lost (1 Timothy 2:1-4); and in the New Testament, instead of telling our enemies (critics) to Go to Hell, we are instructed to pray for them and do them good (Matthew 5:43-45). 2Thessalonians 1:7-8 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 1 Timothy 2:1-4 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
