This is so interesting. I have often thought that the only reason money is so important to everyone is because somewhere along the line we all agreed that little green (or whatever color) piece of paper had value. I have also wondered what would happen if we collectively changed our minds about it. Bartering is as old as our creation. Maybe a monetary revolution reversing its evolvement is the key to breaking the bondage we all suffer due to it - getting it, keeping it, spending it, getting more of it....and so on. What if we reverted back to exchanging work and personal surplus goods for sundries, housing, etc? My crop of potatoes yielded more than me and my family need this year, but we could sure use some of those extra apples you have. Wanna trade? Or I see your roof needs a little work. I need a place to stay for a month. How bout we make a deal? Wouldnt THAT just tell banks and big money corporations where to get off?!?!?! Our money no longer has any REAL value, at any rate. American dollars no longer represent a stash of gold in Fort Knox, for instance. THAT whole system is long gone. Interesting mind candy, indeed.
