This is the back of the #dabf program which we will have available at the door. It provides a location map but more importantly we wanted to celebrate the life of Pat Guerin who was one of the volunteers at last years book fair. The book fair is only possible because of all the people who volunteer to help out (there are over 20 this year). We are grateful for Pats contribution last year and will miss him this year. ---- Pat Guerin Remembered If you were at the Dublin Anarchist Bookfair last year you might have met Pat. He was a tall, grey haired gentleman with a quick acerbic wit, a keen intelligence, and a strong commitment to social justice in the form of his dedicated fight against racism. But most of all when I think of Pat I remember that warm smile which was infectious. We first met back in the 1996 in the founding days of the Anti-Racism campaign. Pat was there driving that campaign along with his energy and enthusiasm for the fight ahead. He never shirked from using the tactic beloved of anarchists, that of direct action. There is little that binds the ties of comradeship as much as being arrested together. Last year as he was buzzing around Liberty Hall helping out with this event, we were all delighted to see Pat back again, a vibrant volunteer, a comrade in the movement. It was with deep sadness that we heard of Pat’s death last June. We lost a comrade, we lost a friend, we lost a fighter and our world is diminished by his passing.
