This is the mission statement of Lilys Place: Lilys Place will provide medical care to infants suffering from prenatal drug exposure and will offer education and support services to families and communities to help recognize and manage the needs of substance abused babies. In its efforts to provide immediate, short-term care for these infants, Lilys Place will provide non-judgmental support for mothers, will offer counseling and support for families and will assist child protective services in determining the best placement for infants, all at a savings to the taxpayers of West Virginia I can not imagine a more worthy cause than the one these wonderful people have taken on. When Harper was born my room was in the old part of the mommy/baby unit at Cabel Huntington Hospital. I heard newborns crying and screaming both nights I was there. I did not understand how because my room wasnt near any babies other than Harper. I asked the nurse how I was able to hear the newborns from the other side. I was informed that the section I was in was close to the babies born addicted. It was the worst feeling in the world to realize why these beautiful, innocent babies were wailing. I am not a person of great means. However, I can do this. I can host a Thirtry One party and give my comission to this group. I hope you can find some products that you like and if you choose to order, I pray you order through this party. If you are unable to buy anything, I understand. If you have time, call the folks at Lilys Place and see what you can do to help out. I know they are always looking for volunteers.
