This is the old B&M station at the corner of Chatham, Parrott and Brookline. It was open from about 1880 until 1959. If the state wont bring the Blue Line to Lynn (any time soon), I think the least that they should do is re-open this stop and also make the GE Riverworks stop open to the public as well. This would make train service much more accessible to folks in Lynn. Swampscott and Lynn have more than 110,000 people between them and yet they are only served by two commuter rail stations (Swampscott and downtown Lynn). Meanwhile, many other communities with much smaller populations have multiple commuter rail stations (example: Beverly has a population of 40,000 and has five commuter rail stations). While I dont think any of us should begrudge the communities that have better rail access than Lynn has, we should demand a similar level of service given the relative size of Lynns population.
