This is the original art from a thirteen page story entitled All For One -- One For All which was published in Batman #32 (1945)...a back in time story featuring The Three Musketeers. This story was not only pencilled by Dick, but it was also inked and lettered by him as well. Of all his Batman stories, this swashbuckling adventure was his all time favorite. Dick thoroughly enjoyed illustrating those stories that had Professor Nichols sending Batman and Robin back in time to meet some of historys greatest iconic figures. He also took great pains to make sure his illustrations were accurate for any given time period. To accomplish this task, Dick kept a huge file of reference material called a morgue which he collected from various periodicals and newspapers.
