KENTUCKY | Matt Bevin Conservative Matt Bevin (R-KY) won the straw poll at the Boone County GOP Christmas gala, which was attended by nearly 700 Republicans. Bevin dominated the straw poll, winning over 80% of the vote against incumbent U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY). This is a clear sign that the grassroots in Kentucky are ready for a change and that Matt Bevins message is beginning to get out. Also, Breitbart News reported that Mitch McConnell attacked conservatives on a conference call organized by Karl Rove. According to the report, McConnell was critical of Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) and said that the Senate Conservatives Fund should be punched in the nose.
