Dear Mr. Mirat, Thank you for taking the time to contact me to express your thoughts regarding the United States relationship with Israel. Im grateful for your thoughts and the opportunity to respond. I believe that Israel is a critical ally to the United States. It is important that the U.S. continues to support Israel and makes it clear to Israels enemies that we are committed to their security. For these reasons, I have co-sponsored the numerous pieces of legislation which express support for the close U.S.-Israel relationship and Israels right to defend itself, including S.462, the U.S.-Israel Strategic Partnership Act. As you know, the most recent provocations by Hamas have only highlighted the constant threat Israel faces from its neighbors. I have spoken on the Senate floor expressing support for Israels right to defend themselves on multiple occasions which you can watch here and here.
