This is the third time I am watching the extraordinary short film - Kite in the Old City. Just like the lyrical title, the film too is grand visual poetry that drives home a powerful message so beautifully and so stylishly. Especially at times when every filmmaker tries to project the superiority(or idiocracy?!) of their religious views, heres someone who hits you hard with the fact that the problem is not with the Gods or religions, but humans. The film is brilliantly paced and certainly requires dedicated viewing to grasp its finesse. But if you are willing to lose yourself, it will prove to be one of the best 15 minutes of your life. Adored the sounds, shots, cuts, and especially dialogues. WOW! Just WOW!! Bandi Saroj Kumar, Salutes to you bro! You have created nothing short of a masterpiece in every sense. You promised a visual treat and have offered an intellectual feast as well. Loved the way you have strewn metaphors throughout the film. Your kite really soars high in my heart. I wish it becomes a cult classic over the years. Want to hear people saying, there are shorts films, and there is the Bandi Saroj Kumar short film! :-) Awaiting to see a similar magic in the big screen.
