This is to all NON Libyans that love to speak about something you never really took time in to study or understand, especially the Americans that piss me off with their Pro Khadaffi talk. YOU MUST LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO WERE UNDER HIS RULE! ||||||||||||||||| The Truth about Gaddafis Regime - By Bassam Drebika |||||||||||||||| I was not able to connect to Facebook until the night Tripoli was liberated on August 2011. Before that I was disconnected like all other Libyans since March 2011, a part of Gaddafi coward scheme to keep millions of Libyans isolated in total darkness and confusion. There were many support groups, created by Gaddafi followers, to campaign for support in a lost battle to spread lies and disinformation about the Libyan upraising. Most facebook pages were targeting non-Libyans as Libyans did not have internet service at all. They were full of made up stories about Gaddafi being a good leader building his country and helping Africans. Therefore, he was targeted by the West/NATO to take over the oil and disable his plans to develop and unit Africa. Such fake stories and many PR companies hired to do the job were designed to win the support of Africans, Latin Americans, and Westerners who opposed US/NATO policy. But like most of Gaddafi support groups real discussion was never allowed. They blocked all unwanted opposing voices and called them rats and traitors, The aim was to spread lies and not to tell or allow any truth to surface. In fact Gaddafi was never a good leader. He executed most of his comrades and killed thousands of other innocent Libyans on his bloody path to power. In 1973 Gaddafi disabled all active laws in the country, including the Libyan constitution and declared state of emergency that lasted until the uprising in February 2011. In 1969 when Gaddafi took over the country in a coup d’ etat Libya was on the track towards development and democracy. There were short and long term development policies carefully planned and executed under UN support and through highly qualified elected government and national parliament. There was free health care and educational systems successfully implemented. With no government corruption, Libya was enjoying a healthy and fast growing economy. Libya at that time was in excellent terms with all Arabic countries and the world. The story about Gaddafi building Libya was a total hoax. If there is any infrastructure left standing today in Libya it was built before Gaddafi took control of the country in 1969. From 1 September 1969 Libyans were on horrible and sneaky roller coaster from bad to worst. Gaddafi killed Libyan youth, mostly students demanding reform and democracy. He also killed our growing economy by forcing his strange and inapplicable ‘green book’ laws that destroyed the industry and brought housing construction and land development to full halt. His family and tribe were openly looting government funds causing education and health service to deteriorate beyond repair. Individual income was reduced by Gaddafi Law no.15 of 1981 to far below the line of poverty, a situation that led the government to subsidize basic food stuff for the greatest majority of Libyan families to barely survive. Trade, export and import were not allowed. English language was banned in schools and western musical instruments were burned in Tripoli main downtown square in front of TV cameras. Innocent people were hanged on state TV and in the main squares in most Libyan cities during the Holy month of Ramada. That is how bad Libya became under Gaddafi brutal and corrupt regime. The so called “brother leader” was so much hated in Libya that he required the full time work of thousands of his notorious revolutionary committees’ men and secret police to keep him in power. Terrifying, torturing and killing any opposition members to his regime. Everything about Gaddafi was totally fake. He pretended to be a simple man living in a tent when he was living in a large compound with layers of thick walls and staggering security budget of billions of dollars. He was nothing but a virus implanted to destroy our country and kill our people. Despite his anti-western rhetoric, only American and European companies were allowed to produce and share oil benefits in Libya. His irrational decisions implicated Libya in several major wars against Uganda, Chad and Egypt. Billions of dollars were spent and thousands of Libyans were killed without justifications. His involvement and support of international terrorism also cost Libyans billions of dollars in compensations and eight years of suffering under UN embargo. Not to mention billions of dollars spent and thousands killed globally as result of his direct involvement in supporting and funding independent and radical movements like the Irish Republican Army (IRA), Italian Brigate Rosse, (BR), South Sudan Liberation Movement, Sudan Justice and Equality movement, Polisario Front in Western Sahara, Abu Sayyaf in the Philippines and many others. Gaddafi brought nothing to Libya and Africa but death and destruction. Libyans remain till today puzzled and wondering about just why and who was behind planting Gaddafi in Libya in the first place. Hopefully the coming years will reveal some answers and more hidden secrets about the atrocities committed during his sad and dark era in Libyan history.
