This is totally bogus: The British Virgin Islands doubled the departure tax at the ferries because they werent making enough at the airport after American Airlines failed. Not my fault, completely unrelated to the crappy ferry service. Why does A affect B? Now theres some BS $10 security fee at the Tortola Wharf in Charlotte Amalie when youre coming home to Tortola. NOTE - I dont feel safer, I never felt insecure before. There wasnt a problem, so the fee is totally bogus. This brings the round trip to the USVI up to $70, with more trumped-up and phony additional govt fees coming later this summer. How do you spell R-I-P O-F-F ?
