This is true up to a certain age. How parents behave about other cultures and races will have influence later. One of my children, at 6; in a Mormon school district came home telling me that he didnt like black people. I asked why and his answer was that they werent pretty like us. I said well you know know Mrs --is a black lady. And he was all indignant because this was his fav teacher and he really liked her and NO she wasnt and I said uh huh. You look when you go to school. At her hair and you pretty brown skin and her black eyes. He came home from school the next day and I asked about his favorite teacher. And he was all not responsive. And I asked again about the possible genetic characteristics of his teacher. He said , maybe so but she is nice! Moral here is what your kids are exposed to out of your home can carry way too much weight. The child is grown now and bases how he feels about a person and on how they behave towards him and not on the surface appearance. So talk to your children about your ideas and ideals and what you think is right or they will learn it from other peoples kids and you cant imagine what theyve been taught.
